World Cup Mountain Bike Powertap

French_mtb_ptapI found this photo via a very complicated path. But it shows a French rider using a powertap in a Chinese World Cup Race.

I have not seen very many mountain bike racers using Powertap's especially at this level.

Good to see the use for the top step of racing.

Good Guys do Finish First!

Jason_mccartney Jason McCartney one of the classiest and most humble professional athletes I have had the privilege to meet won a stage of the Vuelta a Espana.

Great job today in the Vuelta Spain. Great to see  guy who need to come with a result get one just before the contract time.

Maybe he race worlds this year as well. Since he should have the form?

Craig Lewis Heading to T-Mobile with Neighbor?

There is a rumor running around Greenville this weekend that local boy Craig Lewis will be heading to T-Mobile with his neighbor and mentor George Hincapie next year. In an effort to have some loyal team members Hincapie may be adding some local fire power to boost his chances and confidences in the classics and shorter stage races.

For Lewis it would be a significant step up should the team not race him to death like other Pro teams have done to promising riders like Ryder Hjesdal, Mike Creed, Justin Spinelli and Danny Pate.

We'll see if Criag makes the trip to Germany this fall for the large T-mobile team announcement that is set...

2008 Slipstream Final

Slipstream  announced the team yesterday, here in Greenville, SC. And not to my surprise Tyler Farrar has joined the team -who I predicted would be on the team simply by his performance and American.

Only 9 guys from the current team make the move up to the Pro level. Noticeably absent is Craig Lewis and Mike Creed - guys that were at one time media acclaimed for the Pro level. I will be interested to see where the other guys land.

Former neighbor Tommy Peterson, earns his rookie stripes. Could see some new American faces in the Tour de France.
